The Father

by Florian Zeller, translated by Christopher Hamptondirected by Rich Francis
Thursday 23rd – Saturday 25th April 2020
The Carriageworks Main Space

Andre is 80 years old and was once a tap dancer. He lives with his daughter Anne and her husband Antoine. Or was he an engineer whose daughter Anne lives in London with her new lover, Pierre? The thing is, he is still wearing his pyjamas, and he can’t find his watch.

This is a beautiful study of a man descending into dementia and we join him on his journey. It is funny and heart-breaking.

Auditions for the part of Andre will be taking place in the week commencing Monday 20th January 2020, with the remaining auditions in the week commencing Monday 27th January (days to be confirmed), and there will be a pre-audition reading at 7.30pm on Wednesday 15th January.
